ETHGlobal New York 🚕

- OCT-SEP 2023-

For their New York event, I wanted the swag items to reflect the colour and energy of the city. I made all the assets bright, graphic, and LOUD wherever I can, while complimenting the yellow and black branding that was already in place.

ETHGlobal Paris 🇫🇷

- JUNE-JULY 2023 -

With Paris housing The Louvre, the largest art museum in the world, I figured its beautiful paintings could serve as inspiration behind the look/feel of Paris’ sticker sheet. Though the other collateral had to follow ETHGlobal Paris’ more minimal branding, it was the perfect base to let a graphic rendition of Paris’ Eiffel Tower to shine.

Hand-drawn illustrations made in Art Set 3.

I created stickers that emulate brush strokes and layers of paint that you might see in more traditional paintings.

Sticker Sheet

Sticker Sheet

Vector illustrations made in Adobe Illustrator.

Postcard

Tight timelines call for quick thinking.

I repurposed some of the assets I made for the sticker sheet and arranged a composition where it looks like the goose and robot are sharing a nice pancake breakfast with maple syrup 🍁

The goose is a nod to Canada, and also specific to Waterloo, which is known to have their flock of aggressive geese.

pragma Postcard

The goal of this postcard is to share key services that ETHGlobal provides.

I played around with a handful of different layouts and designs for this postcard before presenting this final version.

On the front, I created a sardine can design as a nod to Lisbon’s sardine festival that occurs every June. On the back, I have all the information about ETHGlobal’s services and socials.

Venue Map

I create a map for every event, but this has got to be one of my all-time favourites!

Transforming a black-and-white PDF to something colourful with digestible information is quite satisfying 😊

TOKYO🇯🇵

February-april 2023

Some of my favourite pieces from tokyo…

There were so many “firsts” in this project — first event of 2023 and the first time I had to make merch such as washi tape and match food packaging!

Sticker Sheet

Sticker Sheet

Hand-drawn illustrations made in Procreate.

I wanted to show off the beautiful neon aesthetic that Shinjuku (a ward in Tokyo) has to offer. I thought it would be a fun way to incorporate a pop of colour into the event merchandise.

Washi Tape

Creating a washi tape design was like a dream come true.

As a person who adores all things stationary, I was super excited to create some ETHGlobal / Tokyo-inspired designs for the event.

I created 3 different options:

  1. The first one is centered around ETHGlobal’s branding and illustrations.

  2. The second one incorporates the neon lights theme from the Tokyo event.

  3. The final one plays off the beautiful cherry blossoms that are in season during the event.

There were quite a few learning curves in this project with getting the pattern to run seamlessly throughout the roll of tape, but it was an exciting project to design and ship off to production.

Matcha packaging

What is a Japan event without matcha?

Of course, the ETHGlobal team had a plan to give all attendees their own little bag of matcha powder.

I created a packaging design that ties in with the neon-noir aesthetic that this event is going with.

And, on the back, I included some short and simple instructions of how people can use the powder (accompanied by some icons to demonstrate key motions or items).

Postcard / Poster design

This robot is a mascot I accidentally created for a different ETHGlobal event.

Since the team liked the design from the sticker sheet, I thought I could try to incorporate and reuse the ETHGlobal robot design on the postcard.

This design was well-received 💙, and the team wanted to see this design in poster form as well, so I amped up the dimensions and a poster-sized print for them.

Stay tuned for more updates!
